Planting Out: I potted out the sweet woodruff
I finally finished up building the white flower bed and have set this little guy into it’s house. It has been blooming away since I bought it so it is about time it gets some soil to play in.

My Heucherella ‘Stop Light’ arrived from Vessey’s mail order today. It was in very nice condition already leafed out in a 3” fiber pot.
I refilled the birdseed feeder and put up the hummingbird feeder for the season today since they have been buzzing around my head as I garden the last few days.
We had a viscious wind and rain storm this afternoon so that was the extent of my gardening adventures.

Just Purchased: I bought a Velley Valentine Pieris today
On the way home from the coast today we stopped at Gibb’s and I found a 1 gallon Pieris ‘Valley Valentine’ shrub that was in very nice condition and only $7.99. I have been missing the one I gave to my mom when we moved up to Merritt so I bought it. I’m not sure if it will be hardy up here but the flowers are so beautiful and wonderfully fragrant that I had to try it.
I used the flowers from my mom’s shrub in my wedding bouquet for our legal ceremony 2 years ago and I have been wanting to plant one since. I had been intending to take a cutting from the origianl plant but since it is only half hardy here I figure a larger plant will have a better chance.

Just Purchased: I finally bought a combination apple tree :-)
The tree was in a five gallon pot when I purchased it but obviously was just potted from a bare root state. The buds are swollen on all branches though and it looks quite healthy (despite being bone dry at the nursery and quite beat up on the trip home).
