Mapacho Flowering: Mapacho Flowers
My Mapacho (tabacco) is flowering & the stems are getting sticky. Not to mention that the plant is getting much bigger than any other Mapacho I’ve seen grown in Colorado. Many seeds to come.

PLJ's So Long Aphids
So instead of buying more bottles of crap or over priced lady bugs I just ripped up the Aphids favorite food, the Alyssum.
The Aphids blood will paint the way to the future.

The Great Sunflower Project Dormant: Forget It
I am not going to do the Great Sunflower Project. I have limited space and the only spot I have is where the radishes were and that just isn’t the right place for sunflowers.
Besides they want sampling done in the first and third week in July. Well the first week is over and I don’t think I can plant them and hope to have flowers by next week.
Poor planing on their part. They should have gotten the seeds out sooner.
I went with more peppers instead. This entry is about Plj's The Great Sunflower Project planting in the PLJ's garden

Snow Peas Fruiting
These Snow Peas just showed up over night. Well it seemed that way. I’m really happy they are coming on but the lower portion of the plant seems like it’s dying. Perhaps a side effect of growing them in a pot.

PLJ's Aphids
The aphids have arrived. They are primarily after the Alyssum but have gotten into the Victoria Planter, and maybe the Mapacho and Peppers.
I have tried insecticidal soap but it just isn’t doing the job, and at $5 a bottle I can’t keep that up. So I’m going to try a home brew like this:
http://myfolia.com/journals/19396However I’m concerned about what it will do the good bugs? Maybe I’ll just try buying a bunch of lady bugs or pull up all the Alyssum.

Herbs and Radishes Harvesting: Radish Harvest
The Radish Havest is complete. I grew about 30 radishes and they are yummy. A few still remain in the garden but they might just be the runts.
