Oct18
After a few months hiatus, I’m back! I finally got around to planting herbs, carrots, and lettuces at my new apartment. My indoor garden from last year was hard to maintain so hopefully now that I’m planting everything outside, the plants will be happier.
This will be the first time I’m planting things outside and I’m sure there will be a whole new set of challenges. My first worries are that there’s not full sun, I don’t control the water amount (the whole building is on an automatic watering system), and bugs. It should be interesting though. Let’s hope for a bountiful garden!

Strawberry 'Chandler' Another Round?
Last night I picked the fourth strawberry from my plants. There aren’t any more growing and I don’t see any more flowers, so hopefully there will still be another rounds of fruit. The plants are still growing new leaves though, so maybe that’s a good sign….

Strawberry 'Chandler' Ripe Strawberries!
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Last night I picked two ripe strawberries off my plant (that’s only doing so-so) and they were really tasty! A tad small, but good. Even though I probably won’t get a plethora of berries, I’m at least getting a few and they are just too cute for words :P

Lemon Thyme New Thyme!
In an effort to re-establish my herb garden, I decided to pick up some thyme at the garden store while getting soil to plant my rosemary. I had a choice between silver thyme and lemon thyme and decided to go with the lemon. I’ve heard that you can’t really taste the lemon-y part when it’s cooked, but it sure smells good!

Rosemary New Rosemary
I went to my parent’s house over the weekend for Mother’s Day and decided to take home a few clippings of their large rosemary bush. I planted them last night and hopefully they’ll take root and turn into full rosemary plants themselves! This time around I have to be more diligent about keeping the powdery mildew under control.
