my husband was cleaning up around the sheds and was going to put these stands on the scrap pile when i had an idea… i could use them for a new arbor if i give them a new coat of white paint and position them in my everything grows garden across from each other and lay beams or poles on the tops i will have a arbor for the entrance to my garden these stands were once used for our fuel tanks for farm equipment, i want to plant a vine with big leaves on it i think or maybe a wisteria vine not sure about that yet any suggestions what kind of vine, i want something fast growing and good looking no pests and not invasive,on the other hand i like the flowers of the wisteria but not sure about its invasive habits. i already have the trumpet vine but it is so invasive it keeps rooting everywhere it touches the ground and i have found it does not climb very well. then there is the silver lace vine but i will have to research that one and i have a very tiny porclin vine but it does not have very large leaves at least not yet i would like to see a mature one, guess i will go to the garden centres to see whats available in my zone, i have some time yet i dont have the stands painted or in the garden yet. ,

today i put a black leaved ligularia that was planted in a pot over the winter one of my own starts on my deck to make it look more tropical since these plants want a lot of moisture i sunk the whole plant pot and all into a plastic pot with no holes in the bottom and filled half full of water it seems to be doing well so far and looks nice. i also put another one over by the pool on the bordwalk along with a rudbekia that was also in a pot they are raised up a bit in the pots so create a bit of height i will take pics soon.

i checked the lord baltimore hibiscus today and still no shoots but the bottom of the stems near the crown is still greenish so that is a good sign it just has not been warm enough for it i guess. my other hibiscus is shooting up so hopefully this one will too its my favourite.
