Today, I noticed that Park Seed and Wayside Gardens have added me as a Flickr contact… cool :)

I was looking through an old photo album and found a photo of my garden before I built it up with bricks. At this time, I had six (4 × 4 foot) beds made of old wood. If you look at the two bed on the right, you can see new walls that I added between the two square beds to make some space for planting. These eventually turned to the long bed that I have now.

The two kids in the photo are my niece Cathy and nephew JR, who are hunting for Easter eggs.

This photo was probably taken about 1990-1991.

The single seedpod from my Hippeastrum ‘Mont Blanc’ finally start to break open, so I collected the seeds before they get blown away. I’ll let them dry for a bit and plant them at the end of the week.

These seeds are considerably more plumpier (is that a word?) than the Hippeastrum ‘Pink Giant’ seeds.

I dug up the last Elephant Garlic to make room for some Winged Beans.

Today, three Hippeastrum ‘Pink Giant’ (G2) seeds started to sprout.

This Pepper ‘Tricolor Variegata’ plant was grown in 2007 from seeds harvested (in Fall 2006) from a 2 year old plant. It was originally part of a Coleus container in 2007, survived the winter and now continues to grow new leaves.

When I got home from work and checked the back yard, I found a whole bunch of Asian Plums on the ground. I didn’t realize that the were already reddish-purple and about ready to be picked. I think some of the ones that fell are ripe enough to eat, but some of them are still pretty firm.

I’m wondering if they are dropping because they are ripe or if it is weather related (since we had a few days of really hot weather.

I planted three of the ‘Tricolor Variegata’ Pepper into a container.
