Hey, I’m a container gardener in the Seattle area of Washington state. I became interested in gardening when I also became interested in herbal medicine. That was a couple years ago, maybe about four years ago. My first herb that I fell in love with because it was easy to grow was peppermint. It smelled nice and was hardy and I loved that.
That was my first garden, on the Olympic Peninsula, and now I’m gardening on the Puget Sound. A little warmer over here, but that’s okay.
I’m currently a student at an alternative medicine school called Bastyr University, in their Bachelor of Herbal Sciences program. I’m going to graduate in the Spring of 2009. One more year to go! :)
I am married to a wonderful man named Matt. We’ve been together since high school and married for six years. We’ve been through a lot and I love him so much! We don’t have any kids yet, but we do have a pug named Mudd. We’re a little family of three!

I love to grow

I love to grow herbs because they are so useful and because I like to make medicine out of them. A few that I like are any type of mint like peppermint, lemonbalm, catnip; beautiful, happy plants like borage, calendula, california poppy; and I'm getting into vegetables because you can eat them!

Hobbies

I love to read, hike, walk my dog, Mudd, cook, travel, go camping, yoga...
