Hello! I am a “transplant” to Floyd from Northern Virginia and I am enjoying every minute of my agricultural adventure!

My husband and I have lived in the area for the last 3 years and hope to be here for many more years to come. We have a humble little “farmette” in the Check, VA area and we live there happily with our standard poodles. I love to bake, cook, and most recently, I’ve started canning. Previously I have frozen food, but I am interested in learning all methods of “putting up.”

We have a very nice veggie garden, fruit trees/berry bushes, several cutting gardens, a butterfly/hummingbird garden, and couple of rose beds…with ambitious plans to expand! (wink)

Since we are relatively new to the area, and I am either working, gardening, or cooking, I have not had the pleasure of meeting many other gardeners in the area… If any gardeners out there would like a young gardening mentee, I have much to learn and would greatly enjoy the opportunity!
