sugarpacket
I’m a denizen of the northwest shore of Lake Superior; my homeland of the Canadian Shield and boreal forest. A sometimes student and constant theatre arts slave, I’m an eternal idealist. To me, happiness is good friends around a campfire and true love in a tent. I’m gently dualistic; stuck between the lure of adventures I’d like to have and the comforts of the home-space I’m seeking. Balance, for me, is elusive. A voracious reader and sporadic cook; specializing in vegan baking to feed my sad sugar addiction. Simple things like long showers and sipping tea are the balm of my soul; in fact, I recommend sipping tea in the shower.
I’m much more introverted than I am social, but am always pleased when I get a chance to befriend someone new, so feel free to do it first. I wish I was better at that sort of thing, but have always held on to some scraps of my old childhood shyness and learned adult wariness.
I’ve recently become an employee of the Food Security Research Network, and am working as an assistant on the development of a large garden on the Lakehead University campus, which will eventually include a children’s garden, student union garden, biology department plot, research plots and plots for individuals at the university to use. I’m using this opportunity to research and refresh on all things gardening.
