Jane's Frontyard garden
This is the garden with so much potential but so much work to be done. I have grand plans to revamp the entire front yard. My plans are never inexpensive, so I’m just maintaining this area while I try to come up with the tens of thousands of dollars I will spend on the relandscaping. My big problem with the front garden is that It is a lush, water-sucking beauty inappropriately situated in the high desert. Farmers in Colorado have crops dying from drought, so I don’t want to live with the guilt, nor the expense of a $300 monthly water bill. Eventually the front will have no need for supplemental watering, and the plants contained within will be “xeric”. It will closely resemble my rock garden. I have told some neighbors of my plans, and some of them are horrified that I plan to phase out the lush landscaping, but, they are not willing to help me pay my water bill!
