Hstupno's Heidi's Rose garden

Created on Sunday, 27 Apr 08

I have a particular fondness for David Austin roses. I have grown two bushes very successfully here in Maine. ‘Crown Princess Margaretta’ and ‘Geoff Hamilton Rose’. I have three new shrub roses called ’Carefree Celebration".

You have my utter admiration. What beautiful roses! Thoroughbreds of the plant world…

I will have to quiz you on how you manage to keep yours in such good condition :-)

Did you ever think of real old roses? To my experience quite a few are unbeatable worth trying, especially, if you have a more naturalized corner with some sort of loose hedging (birds are happy there too) :-)

It’s difficult to find an area in our lawn that gets enough sun for an old rose. I do love all roses, it’s which ever ones I can find to grow successfully here. LOL I love to cut roses for bouquets, but am beginning to think I’m going to have to lean towards the old roses that shrub…they just won’t fit into my garden right now. As I’m getting older and lazier, anything that doesn’t require much maintenance is looking better and better to me!! :-) Heidi
