Flowerlady's sunny side of the house off the deck garden garden
here i started with a purple smoke tree which is cut each spring back to 8-10 inches from the ground so it does not get overly tall because it is at the front middle of the bed. to the far left near the back i have a porcupine grass which bloomed last year for the first time. there is a dwarf alberta spruce on the right side near the back and a spirea shrub in centre back with a spreading shrub golden cedar off to right side, there are various perennials like torch lily a purple spurge, stop light coral bells, gayfeather, ladys mantle, pansys, pasque flowers in white and purple, japaneese blood grass and a black knight grass that is a little out of my zone but it is protected by the deck and the house so it grows where i have it planted, across the front of the deck i have at the corner so i can stake and tie off to the corner post a blushing brides delphinium this is an absoulty beautiful plant , it gets quite tall and blooms quite long, the biggest blooms i have seen from a delphinium. i have a creme brule coral bells planted and a red coral bells and a green old fashoned one too also one that gets almost black leaves, i also have the yellow meadowbright cone flower and the razzmataz cone flower with a spirea shrub in the centre there is an oriental lily and a red lily as well as 2 euyonomis shrubs at the other corner i have a viburnum shrub and coral bells. there is thyme growing over a stone path to deck stairs.
