Created on Tuesday, 13 May 08

in this garden i have planted a double decker cone flower by the steps off the deck and some poppy (opium ) under the kitchen window there is a purple ninebark shrub planted , and in front of it is a purple daylily, and a ruby star coneflower, there are more coral bells i have the lime ricky which did not do so good over the winter i sure hope it comes back ok this is a nice bright plant. then there is an emerald cedar at the foundation of the main house i used to have a caroypteris shrub but i am not sure if the winter killed it yet or not i will have to wait a bit (drat) behind the cedar is another purple spurge and by the drain pipe is a rhubarb which is soon ready to use mmmm…… rhubarb
pie i have a purple sand cherry planted in front of the bathroom window and a yellow spurge which is blooming right now, this is may, there are euyonomus shrubs planted in foundation too there is the old t.v. tower attached to the house and a honey suckle grows up on this it is now about 15 feet tall the humming birds like this one. i have a wegelia shrub and an old wooden chair with a barn board bird house sitting on it then there is the mugwort (never plant this without containing it this plant will spread everywhere its nice but very invasive) then i have a hydrangea with variegated leaves it gets pink flowers there is a euyonomus shrub that climbs up the foundation wall i have to keep it trimmed so it does not get carried away. also i have another hydrangea shrub it gets pink flowers too, by the stair steps to the front porch i have planted a hardy hibiscus the Lord Baltimore this plant gets big red flowers the size of bread and butter plates beautiful the hibiscus is late to come up u will only see it start in the first or second week of june just start to bud off the rootstock so be patient it grows about 5-6 feet tall and gets better each year likes a long hot summer in full sun on the other side of the stairs i have another hardy hibiscus this one is pink and white i have not had it as long and there was no tag so i will have to wait till it gets bigger it really see what it does. at the corner of the porch i have a bleeding heart with the pink hearts it is blooming right now
