Flowerlady's around the pool garden garden
we have an above ground pool that we put in about 18 years ago and built a deck around it, i wanted something that did not flower and attract bees during pool season so i started sedum from one big plant that i had (autumn joy) it took a couple of years to get enough plants and then another couple of years for them to fill in, but now i have a mass of sedum all around the 4 sides of the pool and they look good all season, they have virtually no pests and do not bloom till fall so i have no bees around the pool during the season that it is in use, i have since added a few more plants a porcupine grass and a maiden grass 3 small golden tira hostas and a yellow and green striped iris and a black bugbane plant. some day we will take the pool down but plan to keep at least half of the deck to make a gazebo i have a wooden walk way down off the porch to the pool it goes on an angle and its nice so u can keep your feet clean while getting to the pool area especially if u have just mowed the grass keeps cut grass from sticking to wet feet and getting in the pool, i have plans to grow maybe a wisteria vine up this structure when we get it built someday, i have always admired a wisteria but have no place to put one right now.
