Chenggeler's Wedge-o-copia garden
The history of this garden is somewhat happenstance. I gardened once before, in a lot on the other side of Denver, where there were raised beds and proper garden niceties like mulches and perennials. That garden was mostly an experiment with corn, beans, and strawberries. I planted a mixture of flowers in several of the beds, and only played around with vegetables in the one bed closest to the front door of my apartment. I moved, and had to settle for one little bed that could barely support the hollyhocks that were already there. The biggest problem was that the yard was totally torn up from construction on this strange scrape and build next door. When they were done, the construction workers had left a huge triangular scar on the grass lawn of my rental’s front yard. There was no way this yard was going to look good at that point, without a bunch of crazy effort. I noticed that that area was being watered by the neighbor’s sprinkler system, and my mind kinda wandered. Free watering… hmmmm…... Now it has been two years, and I’ve included 75’ of submerged soaker hose as my insurance policy. I grow some good eats, and have high hopes for what is there.
