The foundation bed has a southern and eastern exposure. When I bought the house, this area was comprised of 4 massive mugo (sp) pines, a dead tree, one live kousa dogwood and some ill-placed hostas in full afternoon sun. It also was a hotbed of activity for thistle. I am still at war with the thistle. I hate thistle.
