Rainymountain's Winter garden
I guess that I should really call my two gardens the Summer Garden and the Winter Garden given that for 5 or 6 months of the year outdoor gardening is impossible. So during the winter I have an indoor garden, set in the south facing bay window of my sitting room. It has florescent grow-lights hanging above the plants on the table but below the hanging pots, and the lights are on a timer so I wake to light in the sitting room window which does me as much good as it does the plants.

Rainymountain's Winter garden does not have a wish list yet.

Minds of the great! I was just sitting here thinking about how I would add an “window sill garden” for the winter. I’ve gotten so addicted to this site that I’ll need a way to participate over the cold months. Thank goodness for gardeners down under! I’ll be living vicariously through them.

Yes I’ll be keeping up with Brits, Aussies and the Southern States during the winter. The ‘winter garden’ is better than nothing but definately not so much fun as the summer garden, there isn’t that wrap-around feeling for a start. I think I’ll journal about gardening books, and seed catalogues etc. That’s when making pots becomes a lifesaver, as I can build garden pots and dream!
Cheers
