Luvlymish's Ex's garden
So, when I moved in with my (now) ex-boyfriend there was a horrible shady, over-grown boring garden.
When I split up with my ex-boyfriend he was down a tree (much less shady now), down a (long, straight, boring) path that split the garden up horribly, up a hole (it will be a path), down a mahonia bush (the cutting is in my front garden and will be replanted) and up a huge mound of earth at the back (it will be a raised vegetable patch).
Currently if you step out of his kitchen into the yard bit then to your left is a wooden set of shelves upon which I tend to grow seeds, further left is a sink garden (currently sans plants, I intend to get some mints in here I think), and an attempt at a Victorian style fernery with interesting logs, a chimney pot and some small garden sculptures.
Turning right out of the kitchen door leads you out into the garden proper. I took out the long straight path that used to divide the garden rather oddly and increased the herb bed on the right, it is currently bordered by a moat which is intended to become a curving path. Right in front of you are two apple trees which are sadly too infected with woolly aphid and are in the process of being taken out. To the left is a flower bed up against a stone wall and the two beds curve around a lawn, on the right herbs and on the left flowers, they then open out onto another lawn, the left continues with flowers and the right was supposed to be wild flowers but they decided not to grow. Then the right continues up into a fruit bed and the left descends into a bit of a mess.
