Mezfank's Melon Patch garden garden
Next to the back fence of our 1.25 acre house block, on a north-facing hill. The spot was covered with blackberries last year, so I’m expecting some battles to come! There’s a block of corn in the middle of them too, which seems to be pretty slow in germinating.
I’m experimenting with a couple of different options with my melons – planting them close in order to train the vines up over the fence, and planting on mounds to give them a bit more room. At the moment, they’re surrounded by grass and weeds. Not very pretty! I’d love a hedge of Chilean Guava around the whole patch, but we’ll see how we go!
