Clarabeasty's Frontyard garden garden
A couple of years ago, we pulled up all the grass, well… weeds, and put some river rock down in a shape of a swirl and planted perennials. We were new to gardening and it’s been a trial and error struggle but when something works, it really works! The competition from tree roots is fierce, and the blazing July/August sun is a challenge. Even though we don’t use chemicals, it’s not terribly environmentally friendly as it uses a lot of water. But the cats love love love it as they can shelter, hide, hunt in it. Basically, it provides months of work, entertainment and enjoyment for the whole family. The photo was taken in spring 2007. The pink peony and beard tongue are in bloom but not much else is blooming.
