Armorel's Greenhouse garden
I bought my greenhouse in 1989 with money left to me by my beloved Dad, Jack, (also a keen gardener) who died in November 1988.
It’s an Alton Cedarwood with sloping sides and measures 18ft long by 12ft wide. It has managed to withstand hurricane-force winds on several occasions (thanks to its sheltered spot behind a 10ft Pittosporum hedge in a corner of our big garden) but is now looking a bit battered and in need of need some TLC.
Because I live on the Isles of Scilly, enjoying the blessings of a mild maritime climate, the greenhouse is completely unheated. I do have to shade the glass with white shading paint in the summer because there is no pollution and the sun is very strong.
I grow an eclectic mixture of plants – geraniums and pelargoniums, stephanotis, amaryllis, freesias, hyacinths, succulents, cacti, herbs, jasmine polyanthum, and a Rubber Plant which is now taller than me and looms in the far corner. I grow seeds as well but they tend to be unusual ones rather than bedding plants and such.

oh I’m jealous you live in a beautiful part of the world and can get away with a lot of the things I grow outside with little protection.
