Rat-tail cactus aka Bob Marley shave and a haircut
an impromptu haircut for bob just finished…it’s been put off for a couple years. now all the skinny little ones are curing and will be planted with my seeds under the grow lights.
i’m still not sure how to really take care of this guy….the beautiful thick strands always turn to little stringy guys and then the big guys either get hard and crunchy or they get mushy and dark.
if anyone out there has insight….i’m all ears!

Silvery Inch Plant long and leggy
this guy has hung in there for a few years, but i haven’t given it the proper attention and it continues to become leggy. my mom suggested that i cut it back, stick the very ends back in the pot, and keep doing this until it stays more compacted. i’m going to listen to her on this one because she did this with her’s and for a while she wasn’t able to get it to grow over the sides, it was staying to compact.
this will be a springtime project…

Paphiopedilum faded
the beautiful flowers have run their course (and naturally i’m keeping them b/c i keep everything). i need to cut down the flower spikes before too long. orchids are so fabulous even when not in bloom, and this one is no exception! i’m excited to see the little baby bunch of leaves grow.
how and when would i need to split my orchid? is it necessary?
