Nic's Propagator garden

There are still only 2 seedlings left for the thyme and they are growing quite slowly. Might have to sow a couple more to make sure some survive to plant out.

This is the second wave of oregano seeds sprouting from the same sowing.

After the first couple of seedlings dying off quite early, I didn’t expect to have a second wave of seedlings appear out of the blue – but the last couple of days I have seen quite a few new little green things now peering out of the dirt. Yay – I might have some oregano this year after all…

Only one seedling is left from the Thyme – it is a really tiny and fragile looking seedling compared to the basil and sage…but it seems to be going okay.

I’ve managed to kill off pretty much the majority of the seedings in the propagator due to my own stupidity :/ I left the propagator on the top of the boiler with the lid on for much too long and the seedlings just couldn’t cope with the huge amount of moisture in the container.

I’ve now taken the lid off the propagator and moved the whole thing into the lounge room where its still reasonably warm. There are still enough seedlings still surviving, so all is not completely lost (yet)

There have been a couple more sprouting over the past week, but compared to the basil and the thyme they look quite frail. Did a little bit of reading and found that they might not have enough light where they are – so now its a toss up to put them in the (coldish) sunlight in the front room, or leave them in the (darkish) warm spot on top of the boiler in the kitchen…

The thyme has also now sprouted. I think it actually came up a day or two before the basil did.
