This looks like a really good enterprise. Forgive my massive ignorance but what’s the definition of a propagator? Is it heated in some way – or does it just mean that it has a cover on and is for seeds that you then plant out somewhere else? Are you planning to keep the chilli plants in the house? I am wanting to grow some this year and not sure if I should keep them in or put them outside – I haven’t the benefit of the big windows that you have in your conservatory.

Hi, the propagator is heated, just plug in and leave. It keeps a low constant temperature and it actually does make a difference to seeds.
I think my plan is to keep the chilli’s indoors simply as you can’t predict the British weather. But saying that its usually pretty good in the South so I may get them outside if we have a better summer this year :)

I have some little pots, with covers for germinating seeds but no heat attached – I think I’m going to give it a few weeks before I start anything. I’ll keep my eye on how your chillis do. This website is so useful!
