this garden was originally “open”, with a little stepover fence to keep out the wild life. However, when I lost my entire first season of crops to the groundhogs and deer, I decided fencing was in my sanity’s best interest.

The original step over fence was a rabbit one, so it was buried 18 inches. I simply put a 7ft tall mesh one right up next to it, with the hope that it would keep the varmints out. So far, it keeps out all the big critters, but the baby rabbits and the voles still get in. This I can live with.
