And the daylily show begins!!!
I love this time of year as I watch the buds starting to form on the plants but especially my daylilies. They are going to need some warmer weather soon to put on a proper show this season but the 2 early bloomers just scoff at the cool temps and the rain!!
The first is Cleopatra who is STUNNING enmass with her salmon blooms in a semi spider form and a beautiful raspberry eyezone. This is her first day to open a bloom so I"ll update later when the plant is in full swing
The lemon lily or hemerocallis flava, is a species that I adore. The lemon scent is VERY strong and delightful out by my mailbox. The stems are wiry and strong and it takes all sort of abuse.

These are lovely. I could do with some of these hardier day lilies, the Cleopatra is particularly beautiful.

I can give you a list of some of the classics that would do great most places. Some of the newer hybrids are stunning but fade easily in the heat or don’t open in the cold. Cleopatra is a great choice for most situations
