nic Oops! Seedling massacre

Thursday, 14 Feb 08 (posted about 11 months ago)

I’ve managed to kill off pretty much the majority of the seedings in the propagator due to my own stupidity :/ I left the propagator on the top of the boiler with the lid on for much too long and the seedlings just couldn’t cope with the huge amount of moisture in the container.

I’ve now taken the lid off the propagator and moved the whole thing into the lounge room where its still reasonably warm. There are still enough seedlings still surviving, so all is not completely lost (yet)

It can be a tricky balancing act, keeping seedlings happy, and it’s not always entirely successful. Mine usually dry out when I turn my back :0
Chalk it up to experience, rescue as many seedlings as you can and move on – wouldn’t life be boring if we got everything right the first time?

I definitely agree – gardening would certainly be less interesting if every plant grew well every time. It’s interesting that started this site originally to help me keep my gardening more organised and of late I have been neglecting my plants because of the site….quite ironic, I would say! ;)
