JenniferK Potting Up: Potting Up Tomato Plants

Tuesday, 10 Jun 08 (posted about 7 months ago) Storms 11°C / 52°F

Because of various transplantings and working an internship in television and a part-time job at a hotel, I’ve lost track of which tomato plants are which (not to mention updating this thing).

Today I transplanted the 10 healthiest plants into larger pots.

The soil mix was:
- 7 parts Fred Meyer potting soil
- 1 part pumice
- 1 part charcoal
- 1/2 part Espoma Garden-Tone fertilizer

Then I applied a mulch of wet newspaper strips covered with used coffee grounds (free from Starbucks).

Can’t wait to see if all this special treatment actually works!
