iechris pansies are done

Thursday, 12 Jun 08 (posted about 7 months ago) Storms 23°C / 74°F

The heat wave we are having has succeeded in taking out the remaining pansies. This morning while it was still cool enough to work in the yard I got most of the pansies pulled out, but the ones along the camellia bed are still in the ground. I will deal with them on Friday.

The heat wave, combined with drought has once again done in my grass. The yard is dry and heading rapidly toward brown. The areas where I most recently tried to seed in grass are showing no sprouts at all and I’m afraid that the earlier areas where I did get sprouts might not make it.

We finally got a little of the long promised rain tonight, but I think we had more lightning than rain this evening. I’ll be surprised if we even got 1/4"…
