dee Fine weather and i thought i would never say this !

Monday, 30 Jun 08 (posted about 6 months ago) Sunny 8°C / 46°F

Could we please have a little rain, preferably during the night. There are large cracks appearing in parts of my plot, one of the downfalls of having heavy London clay. It has its good points in that it holds nutrients well. Most things grow here really well, including weeds – its surprising how quickly it changes from quite sticky to break your fork rock hard
My planned one hour visit turned into four hours after weeding the beds and paths between the beds. There were a lot of wet the beds [dandelions] they seemed to have quadrupled in the last week, So it was out with the hoe to hold them off – there’ll be back…

A quick tidy up in the shed resulted in it being completely emptied and the contents rearranged – i came across some hand tools i thought i lost. I now have two onion hoes and four hand forks along with numerous left hand gloves; god knows where the right hands are.
Banged in some nails to hang up my tools, should make it easier to find them, so long as i remember to hang them up – shed will not stay tidy for long.. :)

Watered plants before leaving at five o’clock

Think you’ll get your wish soon – just during daylight as well as nightime! Have you ever used dandelions for salad leaves? I’m looking in the garden for a suitable specimen at the mo – Uncle W is less convinced!

Well, I think you got your wish last night… it heaved down here! I keep meaning to get some dandelion roots up and make dandelion and burdock. Although I don’t know where there’s any burdock growing. Oh, well.

I keep saying im going to try them as they are packed full of vitamins. I also keep saying im not going to be too tidy and let some grow as the bees love them – then i get looks from other lottie holders and guilt sets in and out comes the hoe..
