spidra Totally Behind!

Wednesday, 30 Jul 08 (posted about 4 months ago) Cloudy 17°C / 62°F

My life has been in crisis mode for a couple weeks now. My hands aren’t feeling good, either. Some days I don’t get to garden. But when I do, I don’t have the energy left to upload pictures and write a journal entry. Actually, I can write a journal entry but since no one looks at journal entries without pictures, the needy girl in me figures it’s not worth it.

Hey Spidra, pic.s are nice but journal entries without pic.s can make very interesting reading too. Loved your piece about the 8 year old gardener, for instance. Sorry about the crisis mode, hope it blows over very soon, and the RSI which of course crises don’t help. Sometimes when I am horribly tired, I find lying down and thinking about what I might write if I had the energy actually gets me up and writing :-) And if it doesn’t it at least is calming and productive of happy thoughts. I’ll be reading your journals when my garden is 4 foot deep in snow.
By the way how is the painting going? Your garden has such interesting things in it that it must be a constant source of inspiration. The winter before last I did some silk paintings of gardeners – I’ll put them up on my journal today. It seemed to me one hardly ever saw photo.s or pictures of people actually working or relaxing in contemporary gardens, so this was my go at it.
    Best wishes

    Spidra,
I love reading your journal entries, with or without pictures. I’ve been feeling pretty lazy about adding pictures lately as well. I hear you on being needy; I notice I feel sad when I don’t get comments. Reflectively, I know people are reading them, but sometimes I feel a little empty when I log on and I feel like I’m writing to myself. I guess the mental trick is getting past that. Of course, it’s always harder when you’re in crisis mode. Good luck with everything.

Joining the chorus here! I read journal entries with or without pix! I know about crisis mode, when you know you’ll feel better if you just do something but you feel so bad you can’t do it. That’s the time to just go and sit in the garden. I think gardeners sometimes forget that one of the things to do in a garden is just to be— not to weed, or to plant, or to harvest. Jus be. You’ve brought a little bit of the goddess’ blessing into your personal space; she won’t mind if you just sit and enjoy it.
