nax Yes, I planted purple loosestrife

Wednesday, 13 Aug 08 (posted about 5 months ago) Overcast 21°C / 69°F

This is one of the oldest plants in the garden. I think I’m safe (it’s an invasive exotic and therefore illegal in northern Illinois) because it’s never naturalized even within my garden and I don’t see it growing elsewhere in the neighborhood. I don’t remember where I got it— when I started the garden I did an awful lot of ignorant transplanting from my father’s property downstate, so this might be one of the wild ones, but I also might have purchased it somewhere. (I am still battling the wild phlox I got this way.)
