Planted half a window-box with seeds of this lettuce, which so far has been my favourite of all my lettuce types. Popped an up-turned plastic food container over them to try to provide a little ‘greenhouse’ to warm the soil and encourage germination- as per a technique encouraged on the You Grow Girl website.

Once they’ve germinated and set true leaves, I aim to transplant them into the greens bed where the last lot of lettuce did very well indeed.

I filled the other half the window-box with an assortment of lettuce seeds (Gwenda White, Red Coral & Frilly Pink) so hopefully I’ll have enough lettuce at one time for entire salads- something I’ve not quite managed yet, in my lettuce-growing attempts.
