redloon Cucumber Plant + Powdery Mildew

Thursday, 14 Aug 08 (posted about 5 months ago) Cloudy 22°C / 72°F

These three plants have been INCREDIBLY productive!!! So much so, that I’m cucumber-ed out, and most of my friends are as well. My boss has one on his desk; he calls it his “mascot” and his “good luck charm” (we just submitted a grant application). Every cucumber has been over a foot long, so they’re unwieldy, but they taste great!

I’m curious to see how the plants do, now that they’ve been infected with powdery mildew…

I grew Burpee’s “Bush Champion” cucumbers last year, when I was gardening in containers on a rooftop in Los Angeles. Those were incredibly productive as well, and a more manageable size (both in terms of vine and fruit).
