rockabella9 Sown: In A Cut Up Milk Bottle

Monday, 11 Aug 08 (posted about 4 months ago) Sunny 18°C / 64°F

Well, on a whim, we went to Bunnings Warehouse to get a few packets of seeds to try and start our own herb garden. Our purchases included a packet of mixed basil seeds which I sowed today with the other 2 types of herb seeds we got. The basil seeds were the largest, so I used the largest container I had on hand, which was a plastic milk bottle. I cut off the top and used the bottom for sowing. The basil seeds included thai basil, cinnamon basil, lemon basil and purple basil. It will be a nice surprise to see what other sorts of basil will emerge. Hopefully when they are grown and ready to be harvested, we can tell them apart so we can use the appropriate ones for the the dishes we cook.
