jolantru Shoo, bug!

Friday, 29 Aug 08 (posted about 3 months ago) Overcast 27°C / 81°F

Today, I found my first big pest happily munching one of my basils. It was a beetle with a metallic (bronze-ish) carapace and an attitude. It also reduced the new growth to beetle bite-sized holes.

Needless to say, I … squashed it. Made a squishy mass of green innards and fluids on the floor.

I know, I know. I love animals and bugs. But when bugs become pests, what can you do? I use neem on my plants. Then when it comes to the bigger bugs, I have to do what I have to do.
