The Olympics are over and the snails move in
Who would have thought that snails liked paper so much? The Olympic flag flying over the People’s Republic garden has been well and truly noshed by them. I’ve found snails nestling and chomping away on it every day so far. Perhaps I should leave paper around to draw the blighters out before sending them on a study of ballistics.
The Primrose is flowering again, it tends to have a second flower in late summer, despite being nibbled. It must be really happy.
The honeysuckle has been lopped right back, so here’s a photo of one of the main stems. It has grown over quite a few fence strands. Perhaps in many years, it will be self supporting ;-p
I seem to have quite a few of these little sorrel plants with clover like leaves and darker blotches or circle lines on them. I’ve not seen much in the way of flowers yet, but they make nice green hummocks.

That’s a great idea – I wonder if I surrounded my plants with damp paper those hungry snails would prefer it to tender shoots. Oh well, I can but dream.

It does make it easier to find them, that’s for sure. All the better for sending the snails flying, so fly the flag :-)
