marko Harvesting: First Harvest of late year Basil planting

Saturday, 06 Sep 08 (posted about 3 months ago) Sunny 29°C / 85°F

In the California wine country it’s possible to plant Basil as seeds in late June and still get good growth. This planting pretty much proves it.

There were lots of tall sprigs at the top of the plants so I cut those off to encourage more branching. And of course the Basil leaves will be good in today’s dinner. If this behaves like my" oak wine barrel half Basil planting":/planting/26830/journal this this will be the first of many harvestings.
