dee Progress

Monday, 24 Mar 08 (posted about 10 months ago) Cloudy 4°C / 39°F

The weather has been more like Winter here than Spring with rain, sleet and snow. I am so behind with my planting and bed preparation, im now debating whether to change my rotation plans. Potatoes will go into a lazy bed that has not been dug over yet, theres still some grass there so ill just strim it down and flip it over onto the tubers. Tomatoes will have to be moved [not grown near potatoes] which means the bed i had ready for Toms[which was a brassica bed last year] will now be for brassicas this year?..Not good i know..
I could get away with it, if it was a veg other than brassicas grown on the same bed but im not sure i want to take the chance of having clubroot in the soil for the next 20 years..I have quite a large patch that still needs some work on it [couch grass roots]which im slow getting out, it could be weeks before i get the beds marked out. And well..i have even thought of using round-up just to speed things up a bit.
Progress this year seems slower than last year…. :(
