glittertrash Harvesting: Photo update

Lettuce is definitely the winner in the garden at the moment. Growing them in window-boxes up on a shelf seems to mean that the snails & slugs haven’t found them. I’d need heaps more for a full sharehouse-sized salad, but I’m getting plenty of leaves for little single-serve salads. Love all my different varieties, too.

Gwenda White has long, narrow, upright pale green leaves. It’s supposed to be quite a heat-tolerant variety. Tastes exactly like all the other lettuce I grow, and it’s not the prettiest, but if it sticks around through summer without bolting it’ll get a gold star from me.
