First frost
I can’t quite believe I’m writing that on the 23rd of November, but seriously. My nasturtiums have keeled over overnight, and that I think is the sign.
Of course, it’s been a wet and miserable morning, so no sign of frozen frostiness anywhere. Windy too. Lovely day for staying indoors!

Is that early or late for you?

I’ve never written it down before so I can’t be exact, but gut feel says it’s about a month later than I’d expect. I live a lot nearer the South coast than I used to so I may be over-estimating by a couple of weeks. I know my parents (who live maybe 100 miles North of here) got frost much earlier.

Our frost is now reliably two weeks later than before. Used to get it October 9-10; lately it’s been late October. We might get a very light frozen dew in the low parts of the garden around the normal time, but not what I’d call frost. Plus, this year, it only frosted twice; I’m still waiting for several days of frost. It’s weird. But, of course, we expect Barack will fix all this. ;)
