Iechris's Hydrangea 'Limelight'

Limelight’s blooms are still in the process of opening. I did notice today that they are starting to turn white. Since it is in so much sun, I didn’t think that the blooms would stay green for too long, but they are still a kind of greenish-white and very pretty.

Limelight’s blooms are part way open and it is looking really good. The rain the last few days has got the branches a bit weighted down, but I think the overall form still looks really good. The blooms are about 1/2 of the way open now I think and they are definitely in the green phase right now. I’m very pleased with how this plant looks and also how well it has been handling the heat and drought, especially as it is newly planted.

‘Limelight’ looks like a few of the flowers that make up its blooms are just now starting to open. I think we will have full bloom within the next few weeks. It is looks great and is doing much better with the heat than some of the macrophyllas. I don’t water ‘Limelight’ as much and it doesn’t wilt like the macs do. So far, I’m very happy with this plant. Not that I don’t still adore my macs!

Limelight is now covered in flower buds, so I’m guessing the blooms will be along at some point in the not too far distant future. I’m really looking forward to seeing them and watching them change colors.

Today when I was watering, I saw the start of buds forming on the tips of Limelight. From the looks of what I see now, I think I’m going to have a pretty good show!
