Nic's Dracaena 'Fragrant' x 1
Dracaena fragrans
I had this given to me by my landlord, who didn’t want it anymore. It had a little tag that says it’s from Homebase and is a “houseplant”.
It seems to thrive in the humid conditions of my bathroom, with its only light source being the frosted glass of the window. It doesn’t require much water – in all a very undemanding little plant!

Looks like some sort of dracaena (also called a dumb cane or a corn plant). I’m not sure which kind though!

Thanks for the info Kelly! I did some further research, and now I’m thinking it could also be a Yucca? (Yucca recurvifolia ‘’Variegata’ perhaps?)

I do know that some Dracaenas have been recategorized as Agaves, so perhaps it’s something like that? Sorry I can’t be more help than that though – but check out this site:

I have a tree that looks like this one and like Kelly wrote, I was told it was called a Corn tree. Given the right conditions it will grow quite tall. Mine stands about 6 ft. high. But if you don’t want it to get that big, I know that you can lop off the green part and start new roots by placing it in a large jar or bucket of water.

Thanks ambrewskins and kelly – I think both are you are right! I think this looks like the one (http://www.hear.org/starr/hiplants/images/600max/html/starr_070906_8757_dracaena_fragrans.htm) Bit scared about how big it can grow…might have to keep an eye on it or I won’t have much bathroom left!
