Iechris's Japanese Maple 'Orange Dream'
Acer palmatum
When I got my other Japanese Maples, I decided it was time to do some research, so I’ve been reading and looking at photos. Pretty much, I had decided that a lot of Japanese Maples look a lot like each other, but one thing I did want was an orange one. In my reading and looking, ‘Orange Dream’ sounded the best.
I was at Pike Nursery looking for other things, when I saw two Japanese Maples sitting there in the neatest octagon wood boxes. I took a closer look because I thought a similar box would be nice for my one maple when it grows up some. While looking at the plant, I couldn’t help but notice the tag said ‘Orange Dream’ and that the price was very reasonable, especially considering the size of the plant. Unfortunately, I thought the plant looked to big for my car.
The next day, after my friend said she would keep it for me until other arrangements could be made if it wouldn’t fit in my car, we went back and got it. It did fit and it is now at home in my back yard. Currently it is living near the azaleas, in its pot.

It was obviously destined to be yours! Sounds fascinating – does it have orange coloured leaves in autumn? If so, I look forward to seeing more images in its autumnal glory ;-)

Should be orange in the fall and spring. In some ways, I can hardly wait until autumn…

Nice, wish I could grow one. I dont have any protected enough spots for one here.
