stephmo Stephmo's Pickling Cucumber
Cucumis sativus

2008 – Planted 1 row. These are going to be for freezer pickles (a favorite of husband’s). Have enough for 3-4 more “hills” or another row.

From package:

Seed directly outdoors in full sun. Sow 3-5 seed around a 12" diameter hill. Thin to the two strongest seedlings in each hill when plants have 2-3 pairs of leaves. If planted in row, thin to 1 foot apart. Keep fruits picked. Pickling cucumbers are best when 2-4 inches long.

Plant Spacing: Hill – 4 ft, Row – 6 ft. Planting depth – 1/2". Days to germination: 8-10.
