I’ve been daydreaming about having my own tea plant ever since I began gardening, but have never seen them for sale in nurseries. Then my mum turned up to dinner bearing this ‘green tea camellia’ as a gift! I am so excited. So far I am following all of her advice in how to care for it, as she is an expert camellia-raiser and I’ve never tried.
Where is it?

I wonder how much caffeine you would have drunk? Apparently the content varies with the age of the leaf. Have you found that the taste also varies with the age of the leaves – maybe that’s what gave the grassy flavour? Apparently caffeine is also made in the flowers too, I wonder what kind of tea they would make?! So many things to try…
