Cmagnus's Saffron Crocus
Crocus sativus
I’ve always been curious about saffron crocuses. They are one zone outside mine, so I finally convinced myself that I could handle them if I put them in a pot on the porch instead of in the ground. The porch still gets pretty cold, so they will get some appropriate winter, but it should be able to at least maintain zone 6. If the experiment fails miserably and they are extremely unhappy here, my sister will be all too happy to have me ship her the survivors.
Where is it?
Currently growing in Cmagnus's A Winter Greens garden

I will be watching with interest how these go. I would like to put in some saffron crocus myself next year.

I love the image of the squash watching over everything. :) Hopefully it does a good job, because I am totally clueless about these things. I’ve read a fair amount, but I’ve never grown anything fancy before so it’s intimidating.
