Carogardens's Meyer's Lemon Tree 'Improved Meyer'

We bought this as a small plant (6" pot) about 2 months ago and planted it out in the garden. It made no visible progress and I thought maybe it was planted too deeply. I remember hearing/reading that the top roots should be out of the ground.

I moved it to the corner of my garden (a more aesthetically pleasing location) and planted it more shallow and trimmed off some bottom growth.
