    It can be used both cooked and raw although, as with other sorrels, it has high levels of oxalic acid so is better as a flavoured accent than as a main dish. It has quite a lemony taste and can be used, for example, chopped up in mayonnaise.

    It has some usable leaves pretty much all year round and grows vigourously – the growth in the picture was a division we made from our original plant back in spring 2007.
