Dianthus chinensis
A fragrant mix of single, pink and rose shaded blooms. Ideal for front borders and rock gardens. Blue-gray foliage. Perennial, zones 4-8. Ht. 12"
Sow outdoors in a sunny area after danger of frost or in late summer 12 weeks before ground freezes. Sow thinly and evenly and barely cover with fine soil. Keep evenly moist. Seedlings emerge in 14-21 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
Thin or transplant to stand 6" apart when large enough to handle. Move to permanent location in the garden in late summer, spacing 6-12" apart.
For a head start, sow seeds indoors in a well-lighted area 6-10 weeks before last expected heavy spring frost.
