Looks like you are growing a lot of interesting veggies!! What is special about the broccoli? Why is it called purple sprouting? Does that simply mean that when it comes up it is purple, or does it mean that the heads are purple? :) I might like to try some of that if you have any extra seed. We are trying to go with all red brassicae next year as the cabbage butterflies seem to like them less.

I googled the broccoli, looks very pretty :) I looked up the tah tsai also, it looks like Spinach kind of, so you eat the leaves then?

@TR – the purple sprouting broccoli has a more purplish color overall, but the heads seem to be particularly purple.

@LScully02 – tah tsai was our favorite vegetable in the garden last year – grew very well throughout the winter, and the spring harvests (yes, the leaves) were consistent and large for such a small plant. The flavor was very light on the mustard, so made an excellent cooked green. I’d highly recommend it. :)
